Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)

Fonds enregistré de revenu de retraite (FERR)

An option available upon the winding up of an RRSP that allows the investor to keep the same investments held in that plan. It requires minimum annual withdrawals, which must begin before the end of the second calendar year following its establishment. Like an RRSP, a RRIF can be transferred between financial institutions, and an individual may hold more than one.
